City became re-established as one of the Premier League’s leading sides following promotion as Division One Champions in 2002, but for many fans the story of the early 2000s was the emotional move from Maine Road to Eastlands in 2003. The move caused many to think of their relationship with the stadium and the club and emotions ran high. The first competitive game at the new stadium was a UEFA Cup tie, and since that moment fans have witnessed the full range of emotions associated with this Club.

I have been a city fan for 11years, since the good old second division. Living in the shetland isles its pretty difficult to get to see a match. This season i decided i had to come and see robinho. I went to see city win 2-1 against newcasle. Great day since it was bellamy and de jongs debut and became obvious that given was joining. Shaun wright and bellamy scored and robinho showed what a quality player he is. Will definately get sometime soon again. hopefully the uefa cup final.

My first (and only) City match was in December of 2005. City were playing against Birmingham City. We beat them 3-1. I went with my then 4 year old daughter and friends. We had drove up from Burton-on Trent. I had also just recently moved from America to the UK.
I will never forget the roar of the crowd when we scored the first goal. It was so loud! It really got my adrenalin pumping and I was so stoked for the rest of the match. I will treasure my program and all the photos for the rest of my life-

What an atmosphere! Cardiff was alive as it was for any event at the Millennium Stadium. Few drinks in “The Prince Of Wales” over the road from the ground, usually reserved for home fans during match days.
My Girlfriend bought us tickets for my birthday. It was also my first visit to the Millennium Stadium. TNS started to sing in their little block, at which point the half of the lower tier filled with City fans bellowed out to Blue Moon! The sound was immense and I will never forget it.
Thank you to my girlfriend and also for city for making it such a great day!

In our house we watch a lot of sport especially football. My husband who is a lifelong City supporter suggested that we go to the City of Manchester Stadium to watch the second leg of the UEFA cup after watching the 2-2 draw from Copenhagen. We had never been to the stadium (my husband went as a youngster to Maine Road) and I had never been to a “proper” football match. The evening started off well, we left Blackpool in plenty of time and despite the awful drizzle arrived in Manchester with no hold-ups. That was until the instructions we were given ran out!! Eventually after driving around the centre of Manchester we headed the right way….we parked up, wrapped up and set off for the stadium.
We stopped off in the shop for the essential shirt (for him) and scarf (for me) and headed for out seats. Colin Bell stand, entrance X and very easy to find. The stewards were very helpful pointing us to our row and what a great view, and what a fantastic stadium, it was awesome. We were there early (despite the detour) and watched as the stadium filled up. Already there was a large contingent of FC Copenhagen fans who were certainly enjoying the event and making themselves heard. 26,108 attendance.
We had a burger and chips complete with hot chocolate (very appropriate for the weather) and settled in to watch the warm up and then the game. All the players were cheered when announced and then the singing began…..
The game was great, much better than watching on TV as you had the whole pitch to see rather than a player or a move. Two Bellamy goals certainly helped (scored at the end that we were). We actually missed the FC goal as my husband wanted to miss the rush from the car park (now I know why people leave early with crowds that size), but with a 4-3 overall score line I didn’t miss anything vital.
We are now contemplating season tickets for next season, because of course I want to go again……..
