City became re-established as one of the Premier League’s leading sides following promotion as Division One Champions in 2002, but for many fans the story of the early 2000s was the emotional move from Maine Road to Eastlands in 2003. The move caused many to think of their relationship with the stadium and the club and emotions ran high. The first competitive game at the new stadium was a UEFA Cup tie, and since that moment fans have witnessed the full range of emotions associated with this Club.

My first city game was against Portsmouth where we beat them 6-0. I got there by bus to eastlands and i can’t believe we beat them that score.

My first game was disappointing. It was when City were in, what is now, the Championship. All excited, my new city shirt on, then to walk out to see the pitch in front of what i had been told was a legendary ground and i felt that immediately. Although we lost, badly, i enjoyed it and that would be my only game that season. Next time, and our final season at Maine Road, i watched us lose 3-0 to Liverpool and then on the final day 1-0 to Southampton. Was i really bad luck for city? Now 6 years later almost i’m a seaosncard holder in the Colin Bell Stand (and have been since we moved to the CoMS) and enjoying victories all the time, the best ones have been any derby win 6-2 v Bolton and 6-0 v Pompey!
C’mon you Blues and i hope to see more victories in the near future. (in picture i’m on the left)

My 1st game, I went through 14 years of my life not going to Maine Road but coming to Eastlands made me feel part of the blue family, the atmosphere was extreme, I was sat in the south stand where Kanoute scored the winner for spurs which was the only part of the day which was bad. Everything else, watching the blues, seeing my and me cousin on match of the day with moonchester and moonbeam. Since then I’ve been going to games as a regular!

My first “real” match was the pre-season friendly against A.C. Milan. I had been before but been in the posh directors box but this was my first “real” match sat on the terraces cheering my team on and it felt fantastic! Ive always been a City fan but had unfortunately hung around with mainly Man Utd fans so never got the chance to cheer on my team until that game. Since then ive been to 5 home games & loved every one, even the loss to Chelsea! Ive just got my derby ticket for 30/11 and am also booking tickets for the PSG game 3/12 & the Everton home-game. Thanks for the experience, i will never forget how i felt after we scored and how i felt on my way home knowing my team was up there with the rest of the world, even before signing Robinho & Shaun Wright-Phillips. Thanks for the memories!

I watched MCFC matches since last season. My first match is the Manchester Derby that City beaten United by one goal! It was my first time to know that MCFC is a good team that can beat any rivals! I hope I can go to COMS one day! City is the best!
P.S. I am the boy who wear glasses on the left side of the photo. it was taken when Manchester City came to HK in this summer! – Ryan

My Mummy and Daddy took me to my first game last year when I was 2. We played Aston Villa and we won 1-0 and Michael Johnson scored. I missed the goal though because my Daddy was taking me for a wee at the time.

Living abroad it was never easy to come to England.. Finally my dad gave me the perfect christmas gift – my first City game. It was a rainy day when we should’ve won 5 or 6 nil as they didn’t even have a shot on goal but still it ended in a 1-1 draw.
I had been a City fan before but that was a day and a match I will Never forget. – Miikka

My first city game was city at home to spurs in 04/05 season, I think.
This game was a special one for me even though we lost. This is because I was shown on match of the day as I was sat on the front row on one of the corners and i could be seen when wright-phillips was tripped in the corner by reto ziegler.

My first City game was 1st January 2005. We played Southampton and won 2 – 1. Paul Bosvel and SWP scored for us and Kevin Phillips a pen for them. SWP goal was magic (Around 35 yards).
