City became re-established as one of the Premier League’s leading sides following promotion as Division One Champions in 2002, but for many fans the story of the early 2000s was the emotional move from Maine Road to Eastlands in 2003. The move caused many to think of their relationship with the stadium and the club and emotions ran high. The first competitive game at the new stadium was a UEFA Cup tie, and since that moment fans have witnessed the full range of emotions associated with this Club.

Sunday October 19th 2003 will be a memory I’ll never forget. The story is quite funny to this because my uncle thought he was what caused the blues losing a lot of the games at COMS, so he and two friends decided to watch them in the pub instead. Me and my dad and my brother took advantage of the tickets and went to the game. It turned out that we won by a big margin. We won 6-2, so maybe my uncle does put a curse on City

My first ever man city game was last year.
I’d waited a long time to go to a city game.
I went to the game against Man United last year and it was the best game to probally go to.
After being amazed at how good our stadium was, the television doesnt half make or stadium look bad. We sat in the seats right next to the away fans, and all i can remember is the goal by Hull City Star Geovanni when he made his first start for us, his goal was Awesome!
It was a sudden hit of Ectasy that sent me of my seat i was so thrilled, chats of who the f*** is Nani weve got Geovanni was being shouted at high volume, the excitment was better than anything ever before!
That was my first ever game at CoMS

My first match was in 2000 at Maine Road, we were playing Tranmere Rovers and needed a win to keep ahead of Ipwsich Town in 3rd. All I remember is getting soaked in the uncovered section of the stadium as my uncle liked it there, and it BUCKETED for the whole match.
Still, a win is a win and I remember Shaun Goater robbing the goalie of the ball to send us on our way to a 2-0 win. Happy days!

i saw that match and it was very entertaining because it was ROBINHOS first match for the blues and SWP first home match after returning from chelsea. The atmosphere was amazing when they called the names th stadium erupted. sadly the blues lost 3-1 after ROBINHO scored a first half free kick, bottom left corner, fantastic

My first city game was against Aston Villa at CoMS. i went with my dad we traveled all the way from glasgow on the day of the match. I will NEVER forget that game although we were beaten 2-1. I still loved every minute of it. We brought our big Celtic Flag with us. A great day hope to get down this year again

As i waited to go in the stadium i felt quite nervous as it was my first match. I had heard my Dad go on about how good it was but couldnt actually belive it until we entered & i saw my team enter the pitch. The goals were great & i loved every second of it, winning 2-1 was quite nice too!!!!! Now im waiting to go back there for when we play PSG 3/12…..cant wait!! 2 games in a couple of months…not bad for an 11 year old!!!

I live in San Diego California but my dad was born in Manchester and raised me to be a blue til I die. My first ever game was City v. Chelsea last season, and even though City lost I fell in love with them that day and the passion the fans had for a team that was defeated. I am City through and through and that will never change because of my first match!
