My first (and only) City match was in December of 2005. City were playing against Birmingham City. We beat them 3-1. I went with my then 4 year old daughter and friends. We had drove up from Burton-on Trent. I had also just recently moved from America to the UK.
I will never forget the roar of the crowd when we scored the first goal. It was so loud! It really got my adrenalin pumping and I was so stoked for the rest of the match. I will treasure my program and all the photos for the rest of my life-

My dad and Uncle took me to my first game against Portsmouth on August 27th 2005 when I was 5 years old, we won 2-1.
Driving to the match I was so excited, I remeber the atmosphere being really loud, walking up the spiral slopes to the second tier where me and my dad sat was unbelievable.
I don’t really remember much else, but this experience means I will be a City fan forever.

My dad took me to my first game, aged 6, to see his favourite team and the team he named my middle name after. It was a friendly against Olympiakos and I can remember the away fans behind us in the family stand because they were bangin on a drum that sounded like a stampede of elephants. It gave me a headache! We were losing at half time but came back to win 3-1 and I loved it so much I begged my dad to buy me a season ticket. I’ve had one ever since.

We were at home against Birmingham City. It was one day after my 12th birthday and this was my most highly anticipated present. I don’t think I had a wink of sleep that night as I can remember being tired right up until we got to the stadium. From that moment on, I was sure that I was to be a City fan all my life.
I went with my older brother, Paul, who had been going to games with my Dad for as long as I can remember, and discussing what had happened at the game. (I always wanted to see what happened but unfortunately Match Of The Day was always on after my bedtime!) Now I was finally going to see all the ups and downs of a game.
I was on a high from the minute I sat down. We were treated with goals galore as by the end of the first half, as we were 3-0 up. With Sommeil, Barton and Sibierski scoring them. As it was a week before Christmas Eve, and with the opponents being thoroughly hammered; chants of: ‘you should’ve gone christmas shopping’ echoed round the stadium. I for one, was finding this hilarious and an all round thrilling experience at the same time. In the second half, It became clear that we were coming away with all 3 points as they were now 4-0 down. A late consolation goal gave the visitors something to cheer about. However, we were cheering with them as it was an easy win for us. I loved every minute of it, we all felt like one big family, cheering the best team in the world.
I went to bed that night with ‘you should’ve gone christmas shopping’ ringing in my ears.

My girlfriends first game was a surprise birthday present for me. She packed me in the car and told me that she had two tickets for City V Arsenal at maine road, and they had been a snip at £160 off the web. Arggghhhhhh
After working a night shift i fell asleep during the journey and my lass woke me as we arrived outside Old trafford.
Wrong ground, I mumbled in an angree tone, as my girl, on my birthday, had committed the cardninal sin, and taken me to Hell.
My anger only increased when i noticed the time, “its ten to 3″, “i know i got a bit lost”
we enentually arrived at maine road about 20 mins after kick off and were met by citizens leaving.
Arsenal were 3-0 up and Henry was just taking the mickey out of Dunne. And I mean going passed him while making hand gestures to the city faithfull.
It was soon 4-0 and half time. My lass had been silent since we arrived. She was looking out at the sea of blue, and just said” look at all those people”
the second half was a 1-1 draw, so we forgot all about the first half and just took a point.
Henry was world class.
