My first city game was when i was 8 and my dad took me to Maine Road to see city play against Coventry in the fourth round of the FA Cup. I don’t really remember that much about the match apart from a 90 minute goal by Shaun Goater who at the time was my favourite my player. CTID

My first game was at the 10 of february 2001 at Maine Road against Tottenham. We lost 0-1 in the 89th minute by a Sergei Rebrov goal. Totally crap, cos´ City dominated the game all the time, and Egil Østenstad hit the post and Huckerby got a goal disallowed, even though it shouldnt have been. That was Spurs only attempt on the target the hole game. It was a bit frustrating.
I´ve been a Danish City fan since 1995 – so living in Denmark, being a student, didnt make it easy to come to Manchester before 2001.
My next game was the last game of the same season on the 19th may against Chelsea. A game where we were already relegated. But an incredible atmosphere – sold out Maine Road. And the game ended even before the 90th minute because City fans stormed the pitch at the referee had to call the game off before time. A fantastic memory and yet the best memory at a game i´ve had. I remember Carlos Nash was being held in “Glory Chair” by the fans all the way to the playerstunnel, and i was able to get a little piece of grass from the pitch.
The game ended 2-1 – City´s goal was by Steve Howey – from a corner i think.

My Grandpa had got a box at maine road through work and another for Sheffield Utd on boxing day the same year. it was the last sunday game to be played at maine road. it had been agreed that my brother would go to the bradford game and i would get to go to sheffield. however this later changed as my dad thought that the sheffield box wouldnot be as good as the city box so i was to go to the bradford game with my dad, uncle, grandpa and people fron his work. i remember him telling us a story of a guy he knew who had cut his fingernail so that it made things easier to flick (bizzare, i know) any way when the betting psheets came round my dad got me on his knee and went through the sheet with me asking me various questions about what i think would happen. ‘who will score first?’ he asked
‘Goater’
he put goater to score first on he sheet
‘What will he score be?’
‘3-1′
he marked 3-1 on the sheet.
i clearly remember Kevin Horlocks strike from the edge of the box after ali bernarbia played him in from a freekick. when the match had finished, the winnings came round and my uncle had won a lot of money and after the various people had recieved their winnings nothing came my way so i ’subtlely’ reminded my uncle of my bet
‘what about me? i bet i would be 3-1!!’
he ended up chucking £5 my way. i still dont know if that was the right amount. but that was my first city game. ever since we moved to the CoMS, i have always tried to get there

My dad took me to maine road the year it closed for a night game against Crewe. I remember the excitement as we walked through all the houses towards Maine Road down all the little ginnels towards the ground. We went in the kippax and my dad told me all the stories of when he used to go and it was everyone standing up next to the cage with all the away fans. When We emerged into the kippax to see the pitch it looked like a carpet, the game kicked off and there was an immediate goal, I cheered, it was Crewe….welcome to being a city fan.
Me and my dad now go to every game, the best at Eastlands was the 6-0 portsmouth game

I have been a season ticket holder for the past four years and loved every minute of it, the fans are great and the atmosphere is electric. My first Home game was at Maine Road agianst Crewe Alexander,I realy enjoyed my first man city game i went to and i will do throught my life, i thought Shauwn Wright-Phillips was a brilliant player as he was coming through the youth accademy and he became my favourite player. I go to every home game to enjoy a good match that the blue boys provide for the our fans and will continue to do so in my Manchester City life.

First game at City, Worthington Cup game at home to Birmingham City.
Wintery October evening, wrapped up in scarves. The Kippax was booming, 4 goals from Huckerby, 6 for City. What else could you want?

My husband and sons used to travel down to Manchester from Scotland for a few home games in 2001. I decided that I would like to go to a game as I always heard that electric atmosphere that came from Maine Road while I was waiting outside for hubby and the lads to filter out. I sat in the North Stand that first time and was completely hooked by the atmosphere that exuded from Maine Road. Yo
u were completely caught up in the buzz. Boy was that the turning point for me. Every home game we would set off from Stirling in Scotland down to Manchester and arrive just in time for kick off!! What a great feeling we all had when we were travelling down. It was great when we were going back after City had won and depressing going all that way back up to Scotland when they had lost. It was beginning to get a bit silly being that far away from our beloved Blues so we moved to Manchester about 5 years ago. We’ve been season ticket holders for 7 years now and never miss a match either at home or away!!!Can’t get enought of those Blues
