In the days when we used to fill our ground, my dad could only manage front row seats in the corner between the main and north stands. It was the opening day of the 95/96 season, Kinky’s debut as well if I remember rightly, I’d be lying if I told you I remembered whether the game was any good, come on I was only 7. What I do know is that Sheringham opened the scoring in the first half, and that early on in the second half Rosler not only levelled it up but proceeded to slide on his knees right in to the corner in which I was sitting. The crowd going mad and the goalscorer being a stones throw away was quite a lot to take for your first match, but its something I’ll always remember. The celebrations stand out and that’s probably what has had me going back ever since. Looking back a draw against a decent top 10 side wasn’t bad considering we ended up going down. Could be seen as false advertising for an impressionable young lad on his first visit. So 13 years and counting and I can’t imagine not having city and my seasoncard. I can remember this game clear as day… 0-0 all game thinking that we might snatch it and then in the dying minutes, who pops up to seal an away victory?? Ian Wright! I have since forgiven him, as he has given us one of my favourite ever City players… And I think we all know who that is!!

I’m not 100% percent sure this was the year, but I remember the game so well. I was 7 years old, we parked opposite the princess parkway pub and trudged along to the ground with my dad and my uncle, who was a liverpool fan. City went behind 1-0 to a steve mcmanaman goal. But city came from behind to win it 2-1. The day summed up City, never say die attitude to come from behind, their will to win and the support that day was second to none. As they say the rest is history

My first game was Aston Villa at home new years day 1995 making me 4 at the time. The only thing I remember about the day was Uwe Rosler scoring as we queued outside the North stand.

My first game was against West Ham in the 1995/96 relegation season when I was 7 years old. My Dad, being a City fanatic, was desperate to take me to a game but I’d never shown much interest until out of the blue I asked him if we could go and see a game. We won the game 2-1, Niall Quinn scoring twice and West Ham had a 15 year old in goal. I just remember being amazed by the noise where we were sat in the North Stand and how everyone just went crazy when we scored, i was hooked! I also remember Dad shouting at people around us for swearing because I was a kid, and in those days people duly apologised and just got on with watching the game, not sure that would happen now. I’ve now been a seasoncard holder for five years and don’t miss a game. I lost my Dad a year ago and am forever thankful for him to taking me to my first game, as watching City in the following has given me so much pleasure over the years, albeit with a lot of heartache! I’ll never forget my first game, it was the start of something good!
