My first City game was on 1st February 1992.
I woke up on the morning of the game full of excitement only to find that the house had been burgled! Gone was the television, gone was the VCR (no DVDs in those days!), but most importantly, gone was my Dad’s wallet with the tickets inside!!
I was naturally distraught, so my Dad raced down to Maine Road to see what could be done. My Dad explained the situation to the ticket office who were more than happy to print replacement tickets. It was a kind gesture and my first experience of the values the club has always held.
City won the game 1-0 with a rocket into the roof of the net by David White and the rest is history!

My first game was Manchester City vs Queens Park Rangers at Maine Road when I was 14 years old
My family had travelled to Manchester from Aberdeen
We had been season ticket holders at Pittodrie and enjoyed a succesful period of football under Sir Alex Ferguson – we all loved football but had never experienced a live English football match.
I had never followed Engish football much but as massive football fans my Dad and I decided to take in some matches when we were in Manchester
It was the first live Premier League game on Sky TV (BSkyB) and was on the 17th of August 1992
A buzzing Maine road was the host for Skys first outing with us playing Queens Park Rangers, David White giving us the lead before half time.
This also gave him the honour of being the first Goal For Manchester City In The Premier League
It finished 1-1 with QPR equalising after halftime through Andy Sinton with a strike from outside the box.
It was a great game with Keith Curle, Paul Lake, Steve McMahon and Niall Quinn all playing well; something blue was born in my blood that night!
Oddly it wasn’t only the football that made me become a City fan as for long spells of the match we were outplayed by QPR who looked dangerous with Darren Peacock dominant in the air
it was the fans, we were really loud and I remember bouncing up and down and the singing throughout the game
I’ll always remember there was lots of entertainment with Sky Strikers cheerleaders, a skydiving & parachute display and live music at half time – I had never seen anything like this before.
To make the week even better we went to old trafford on the Wednesday night and watched Everton beat them 3v0 in front of very quiet United supporters
Goals from Beardsley and Mo Johnstone against a United team including Ryan Giggs, Darren Ferguson and Mark Hughes
I travel down from Aberdeen every other week and have a season ticket in the Colin Bell stand Tier 2 – looking forward to many more great games this season and appreciate the effort our new owners have been making
I have to thank my Dad and the atmosphere on the terraces that night for me being a blue.

I would hand out leaflets at the turnstyles which was organised by one of my teachers and then me and my mate would get in free but had to stand in the Kippax, which was brilliant as we got to soak up the atmosphere. That was my first experience of watching a football game in a stadium Excellent!

My first game was the first Monday night game to be shown on Sky, against QPR. i remember sat on a wall at the end of the Kippax. David White gave us the lead just before half time and Andy Sinton scored a great goal from outside the area to get a 1-1. Great memory, hooked for life, City til i die!

I came from a divided house – Mum was a died in the wool Red, born in Manchester, used to stand at the Stretford End and watch Best, Charlton and the rest. In my early days I leant towards UTD as opposed to the city beloved by my Dad – an adopted Northerner originally from Oxford. Dad won a coup with taking me to my first game when I was 10 or 11, I think it was boxing day.
We got battered 5-2 at Maine Road by Everton. I remember looking out from the North Stand over the jubilant Toffees supporters – singing a Christmas themed mock of our defensive frailties.
I remember vividly the acres and acres of green, the towering figure of Quinn and the intimidating masses thronged behind the metal fencing in the Kippax, singing their hearts out even in defeat (and I think called for the head of a certain Mr Howard ‘judas’ Kendall). I felt like a real fan – needless to say I was hooked.

Ball comes out to Reid and he scores past the Villa away to secure 3 points and keep us up from that moment i was City for life. My first trip to see City came at Selhurst park Wimbledon on a suuny day in 1992 my dad Mick took me when my mum still made me sandwhich’s for the trip. we went 2-0 down Mr Fashanu to thank for that and a late Mike Sheron goal could not stop my lust for the team in blue and from that day on i was City till i die.

My first game was in November 1992 we beat Leeds 4-0. I went with my friend, her Dad and Brother and we stood on the Kippax. I was 12 years old and didnt know much about football but was hooked from that game onwards, having a season ticket for a lot of the 90’s. I thought we would win every game 4-0 so was a bit disappointed to see us lose to arsenal and spurs in my next two games but thats when the roller coaster began of being a city fan – and continues now 16 years later…
