Ok so really Niall Quinn was my hero but i remember looking up at my dad filled with admiration and respect as we walked to our seats and i saw the pitch for the first time. Everything seemed massive and i couldn’t believe what i’d been missing out on. It was 1991, the final game of the season and Quinny scored twice as we relegated them. What noise! What drama! My dad patted a Sunderland fan on the shoulder who was crying after the game. A nice touch. Once a blue, always a blue. I’d give anything to recapture the magic of that first game

My first game was City V Spurs, it was Christmas present of my cousin. I sat in the old North Stand, near enough the same place I sit now at Eastlands. Paul Walsh and Gazza played for them at the time. I can not remember the score but have been hooked ever since. I have hooked my 2 year old son as well.

Although im told i had been going since the age of 6 months, my earliest memory in going to Turf Moor for the FA Cup 3rd round.
My Dad and Iu were sat at the back of the old stand, an dto my shock found that our seats where either side of the gangway.
I can vividly remember David White flying down the right and pulling it accross, then everyone stood up, i got on my seat just in time to see Colin Hendry blast it into the back of the net.
Brilliant!!

my first game, was a dire 1-1 draw with Wimbledon at Maine Road.
Mark Ward scored an equalising penalty right infront of me (in the Platt Lane end- past a moustached Nigel Martin), whilst my dad listened to the England v France grand slam decider on someones radio.
i was only 8, but hooked ever since. i just gazed at the kippax for most of the game, freezing cold.
i dont understand why i went back, i still dont understand why i go now. the best thing about it though is reading all the other memories, like wembley, and derby wins. at first i thought how lucky, but my first match was a shocker, i know what to expect each week, and if you go often enough once in a blue moon, you’ll actually enjoy it.
KEEP THE FAITH!

My first game was at Maine Road 1991 against Arsenal. A friend who i met in a holiday at mallorca. Paul, Thank You, Paul, took me and my mate who are from sweden to the game. He had Seasoncards that we borrowed. I can still see David White running at me to celebrate his goal with the fans in the corner. One of those rare wins against Arsenal that im glad to have seen. and remember that we did steel a point at Chelsea a couple of days later with a late Sheron goal. Jan Laamanen Sweden

It was the last game of the season in 1991 against Sunderland, my dad took me with my younger sister Susan. Sunderland needed to win but we beat them 3-2 to send them out of the old 1st division.
Whilst I spent the majority of the game in awe of the crowd and David White, I remember Quinn scoring after 10 minutes and the crowds cheers sent shivers down my spine… I was hooked instantly. After the game my dad took us to the city shop and bought me the home scarf and matching hat. I still have the locked away for safe keeping.
My first city game is remembered by as many as a classic by both City and Sunderland fans with Quinn essentially sending down his own, but for me it was the start of a long and happy life as a blue.
I’ll never ever forget it.
City till I die!!!

My very first City match was away at White Hart Lane. My Dad got us some tickets sitting right up in the clouds (and in with the Spurs fans). A bloke sitting behing us kept referring to a certain City and Republic of Ireland striker as an ex-Arsenal lanky streak. Midway through the second half, guess who pops up to score the only goal of the game, concreting my love for the blues in the process? As we jumped up and down, my Dad shouted out “That ex-Arsenal lanky streak has scored!”!!!! And Linekar and Gazza were playing too!

After begging my dad for years and years to take me to the football with him finally the day came. I remember going to the ticket office on the morning of the game and my dad getting in the car with my first ticket… It was City v Leeds 10th April 1991 a 1-1 draw….The most vivid memory I have is walking up the two flights of stairs in the North Stand Block N and the view which greets you at the very top! The green pitch and all the other supporters enjoying pies and that smell that Maine Road always had.. the football smell as I call it… 17 years later I am still going with my dad and would never give it up… CITY the best team in the land and all the world!!!

I barly remember my first game as i was only 2 years old. I just vaugely remember it was against spur’s i was towards the back of the kippax, being held by my dad and the game was tied at nil nil until the 89th minute when city grabbed the winner i cant even remember who scored just that the entire crowd went crazy jumping, shouting and screaming. I had never been so terrified in my short life and immediatly started crying, my dad didn’t manage to calm me down until we got to the car. However this didn’t seem to put me off and i’ve been hooked ever since through the bad times and the… not quite as bad times.
