I was 12 years old and my step dad took me to see Pompy away..It was unreal! I remember before the match being in a pub and having to be escorted to the ground by police as there were so many fights! I dont remember much about the game but love the city atmosphere, the chants..everything! I couldn’t wait for my first visit to maine road! Now..9 years on i go to as many games as i can!!

My first game was shortly after my brother passed his driving test. My brother was responsible for me being a blue, as my Dad was more interested in rugby. He used to come home from the pub, wake me up and test my knowledge of City players by flipping through a City calendar trying to get me to name each player. Tony Coton, David White, Niall Quinn and Paul Lake were the names forever etched in my memory now!
On the day he passed his test, he asked where he wanted to take us to in the car, and the only place I wanted to see was Maine Road. I can remember turning off Claremont Road onto Maine Road and seeing the white corrugated roof of the Main Stand emerging out of the darkness. At the time, it was the most spectacular sight I’d ever seen. Here was the Maine Road I’d seen on television and in pictures, and there I was, looking at it with my own eyes!
A few weeks later, my brother took me to my first match, I think it was against Aston Villa and we were sat in the North Stand. We won 2-1, but I didn’t see the goals, I was too busy looking around the stadium in awe at the people, the huge stands and hearing the singing and shouting from the biggest crowd of people I’d ever seen. I was hooked from that moment on, and cannot imagine life without City. I have enjoyed such highs, amazing lows and every emotion in-between following City, and it’s all down to my brother John. For that, I will be forever in debt to you Bruv!
Now when I drive up Grey Mere Lane and see the City of Manchester Stadium emerging from the terraced houses, I experience the exact same feeling as I did when Maine Road for the first time. I hope that feeling will never go away.

My first game was against Norwich City, I was 6 or 7 so it would have been 1989 or 1990. I went with my dad, my uncle and their friend James. We all lived in Huddersfield but my dad had been taken to watch City by his uncle as a nipper so he and his brother had been blues ever since – there was never a doubt I would end up a blue! We went in the car and we parked on the Curry Mile. I remember feeling people all around me as we walked nearer to the ground. We stood on the Kippax, well, I sat on one of the barriers with the other children. We won the game, 2-1 I think, I remember making a 2-1 gesture through the car window on the way home to some miserable looking Norwich fans and referred to them as ‘Norwich Pity’. I’ve been hooked every since. My dad died 3 years ago but I’ve never stopped coming to the games, even though I now make 230 mile round trips from Scarborough. I’m so glad that he ‘inflicted the curse’ as he called it. Life would be boring without City! RIP ADL CTID.

My first city game was one at maine road against bradford in what i think was a cup game i remember it like it was yesterday. We got the train up from blackpool, we were sat in the family stand with my mum, dad and our kid i remember paul dickov scoring a cracker and jumping in to celebrate with the fans that was a good side we had with the likes of kinkladze and rosler i was only six at the time like. We won 3-2. Of course next time i went against bradford that season they battered 4-0

I remember my first City game…I was 5 years old and went with my dad. I remember him buying me the full city kit, socks and the lot and going to the match. I think it was Norwich at home, we won but my dad missed the goals stood in the queue for food! My Dad bought me a wagon wheel at half time but my mouth was too small to bite it!

My 1st memory was when my Dad took me to my 1st game at Maine Road. I forget who it was against but my Dad tells me I fell asleap during the game on my dad’s arm. During my snooze City scored and all my Dad could do was sit there while Maine Road erupted!
Well I’ve been a season ticket holder for 16 years now and needless to say I haven’t fallen asleap at a match since.

My first game was Colin Bell’s comeback game v Newcastle. He came on at half time when the score was nil nil. City went on to batter the Toon. My Dad took me and we had seats in the maine stand and as a 7 year old i will always remember the sight of the pitch, how green and big it was plus the big crowd. What made it better also was the floodlights being used, games under floodlights are magical to a young lad.
