I remember very little of my first game, I have no idea who we played, I don’t know the date, all I know is that I met the first real love of my life. He had speed, he had style, he had the best haircut I’d ever seen. Ignoring the more glamorous players, I instantly adored David White. Having asked my dad if he was married, I ran down to the tunnel to meet him. I was 4. My love for David White passed, but not for City. I’ve been a season ticket holder ever since.

I am Irish and live in Dublin. I have supported City since I was 9 years of age. My first live game was at Main Road against Everton on 21/4/1990. My sister-in-law lived in the UK and when my wife and I went to visit, she surprised me with a ticket to see city. My brother in law and I went to the game and it was one of the best days of my life. Even though I was 30 years old, I felt like a kid at Chrismas. Howard Kendall was the manager and we won by a goal to nil. I have been over many times since, my be about 40 or 50 times and still get a buzz from being a true blue, but the first time was special. Come on City. Joe Mc

It was a wet and cold day and me and my mates had been planning it for months, we had all told our mums we were going out with each others parents for the day so they wouldn’t worry. ( or stop us going )
We got off the bus and were amazed at how many people were there and walking down the road towards the ground was like being in a sea of blue and white. As we got closer to the ground I could hear the crowd singing, it gave me the worst case of butterflies I’ve ever had, even more than the night I’d got my first kiss!
We entered the ground and climbed the steps into the kippax, I’ll never forget the noise!
I couldn’t believe I was finally there and part of it all, I didn’t see much of the game as We were a bit small and wanted to be right in the loudest part of the crowd but it didn’t matter, I was there and I was part of it.
Luckily I’d positioned myself so I had one of the metal barriers at my back, my mates however didn’t and then city scored, the crowd went mad, I remember seeing my mates all getting pushed right to the front and that was the last I saw of them until the next day.
One of the best days of my life and I’ve never looked back since.

Like most people of my generation, i fell in love with footbal whilst watching the 1990 world cup at the tender age of six years old.
Because of this i fell in love with Gazza and Lineker, thus my father took me to my first game involving these legends. My dad was a blue, this meant taking me to a game involving both clubs. We sat in the away end known then as the Platt Lane End.
My memories of the game were being the coldest I have ever been, not seeing any of the goals as it was too foggy at the other end, but i cheered each goal anyway.
Inspite all of this I came away a blue and have followed them to the depths of despair to hopefully the days at the top, which we loyal fans deserve!!
I’ll be taking my son Naill (yes he is named after the big Irish man)to his first game in May at nine months old…to carry on the family law!!

My first City game was against Southampton. I think it was September 1990 and it was a draw. Being a fifth generation City fan, I was never going to be anything else!!! It was my first year at high school that year too and the school did a draw for free tickets to the match. I was one of the lucky ones and went along with my family. We sat in the Platt Lane stand at Maine Road. It was still the old benches in the stand then, before it was demolished and built again. I went to games on and off after that until I finished uni and then I became a season ticket holder when we moved to the stadium. It’s definitely an obsession! I get withdrawal symptoms in the summer when they’re are no games!!!

I was 8 when I went to my first city match with my dad,the memory of this day will never leave me. I can still remember the buzz from the crowd as we walked towards Maine Rd and the feeling I got as we entered the stadium. We played Barnsley and athough we lost the atmosphere never faded, and I murmerd sounds just to join in, i was hooked! It was in my blood – like my dad I was blue through and through!
At 26 I’ve been on the rollacoaster ride that is City ever since!

6th Jan 1990, 8 years old, fa cup, hooked! Dad parked the car by the Denmark, some kid my age casually walks up and gets money for the parking, the buzz around the stadium is electrifying! I was about to get the best footballing lesson ever! Winning isn’t everything…Pride, passion, belief is what count.
The game was typical City and finished a goaless draw (we were beaten in the replay), i spent most of the game looking at the crowd and not the pitch anyway!
Millwall lived upto expectations and decided to start some trouble, fences were climbed and Dad hurried me away sharpish.
There was only one question on my mind…’When can we come again?’
Once a blue, always a blue……..pride in battle.
