My first game was the big 5-1 win over man u, Mark Hughes’s bicycle kick may have claims to being the best of the six goals on the day but Mel Machin’s City put their expensively assembled rivals to the sword with Jim Leighton beaten five times – Andy Hinchcliffe heading the final goal and gesturing to score to the Maine Road crowd. what a game…..

The first city game I ever saw was City 5 – 1 Utd. I was 7 years old, and i went with my then and still best friend Scott Templeton. By the end of the game we were both stood pitch side against the steel fencing screaming our little lungs out! From that day forward there was no turning back, we both had blue in our veins. Funnily enough, the next game we went to was City 1 – 3 Liverpool. And doesn’t that just epitomise what it is to be a true blue!?!

My first ever game at city was City V Vila 1989
I can remember walking up the steps to the main stand and seeing the maine road pitch for the very first time and i got goose bumps.
I could’nt belive the noise i remember trying to sing the songs but not knowing the words as i was only 11
And then a feeling that i would get use to for the rest of my life.
As typical City lost 2-0
I cryed all the way back to the car i was used to see city losing but i don’t know why but that result broke my heart.
But the next time i went they won

One of my first games, still watch the highlights now, what a game!! According to my Dad I would always be at the front of the Kippax playing football with the other kids around there being 5 at the time I can’t remember much from then. Could’nt beat the Kippax for atmosphere and standing up always knowing where your place would be, huddled up with the fans, walking through the tunnel with rubbish at your feet and the smell of beer and fags and wee!!!! Wish we could go back to then!!!

My first game was the Manchester derby in 1989, when we beat United 5-1. My dad played for City as did my granddad before the war, so I suppose it was inevitable I was going to be a blue, but before the game I was wondering if I should support United or City. That said, after such a great game and City performance there was no decision to be made. I went with my uncle Ged and sat in the back of the North Stand where there was a bit of trouble, and the game was delayed for a good while when the players were taken off the pitch. I remember Sparky scored a blinding volley and started a mini comeback but then City’s next goal was pure class. It was a brilliant day.
