i remember my dad and my older brother dave taking me to this game, it was a wintery evening game at home to watford. I remember climbing up the steps from inside the main stand and seeing te kippax for the first time, im sure my jaw hit the floor, how could all those people fit in there i asked mysef? What a great team that night, nixon, clemence, redmond, hinchcliffe, scott, lake, mcnab, stewart, white, adcock, simpson. We won……my first time in the kippax….well there is a different story

I was 9 years old, I had been to a couple of games at Maine Road with my dad before but to this day have no idea who we were playing or what the score was. To be honest, at the time, I didn’t know if all this sitting on a freeeeezing cold iron bar in the kippax st. stand on a Saturday afternoon was for me…but then came the City Vs Huddersfield game…my first ever memory as a blue was battering a team by 10 goals to 1 and going into school on the monday bragging about ‘how I was there’. I’ve been hooked ever since.

An amazing day on the Kippax – my first game, City 1 v Forest 0 – Imre Varadi scored with a header in the first half, i was convinced we’d lose until the game was over – yeah a true Blue! Lets just hope things are going to change! Cos my daughter is now a blue and I dont want her suffering like i have done.

My first city game was against Luton, Feb. 21st 1987 and I was 8 yrs old. I was so excited I didn’t sleep the night before. When I arrived at the Kippax stand for the first time I couldn’t believe the size of the ground and the amount of people that were there, it was amazing. This game is extra special to me because I think it was Paul Lakes first home game at Maine road and his first goal for the mighty blues. Since this day I become a life long City fan, thanks to Paul Lake a city legend who inspired me for yrs.

My first game was against Chelsea in 1987. I was excited all week waiting for my first match. Me and my dad got the bus in from Stockport and I had an inflatable banana that I bought off the market. I remember my dad having a shave and he said to me “We’re going to have fun today lad” I thought he was going to shave his moustache off ha ha.
Our tickets were for the back of the main stand but there was plenty of room for us to sit where we liked and it was a better view about half way down.
We got beat that day 2-1. I was well gutted but at least U*i*t*d got beat as well that day. Who’d have thought all them years ago that I would now be watching the biggest club in the world
My favouite player was kinky king of the kippax. Without doubt the best player in premier league history

My godfather took me in the 80’s. Cant even remember who we were playing. The main thing i remember was the banana’s everywhere when we scored. The match ended in a draw. And at night there was a picture of me and my godfather in the crowd in the evening pink.

I remember my Uncle Eric (rip) bringing me to City at home to Stoke City in 1987 against my father’s wishes (he’s a red). He bought be a Big Banana (still got it) and I sat on his shoulders and cheered the Blues on to a 3-1 win. I was only five at the time and haven’t looked back since.

Cant remember the exact year I was about 10, We had played pretty badly and were 1-0 down with about 5 minutes to go, then Stevie Redmond and Trevor Morley scored twice in the last few minutes and the place went wild. My first game was an emotional rollercoaster that ive been riding for 20 years now. CTID

I may have my facts completely wrong but this is what I tell anyone who is remotely interested. My first City game was in 1987 against Arsenal. We beat them 3-0 and were relegated the same day. I’ve never checked the facts because I like the “typical City” story. Ever the optimist (you have to be) I’m hoping “typical City” in the future will reflect my daughter’s experience (pictured at her first match). Her record to date is 3 City games – 3 victories – 12 goals for and 1 goal against.
