After watching City win 6-0 on my first visit to Maine Road,a lifetime as a blue was assured. I was 15 and went with my mate Andrew Crane. we stood on the kippax and were swept down the steps six times!!!

What a game to be my first. At just a couple of weeks before my 8th birthday my first taste of Maine Road drama was bitter but, sweet. Yes me and 30000 others had to endure David Pleat dancing across the pitch and the heartache of relegation and that I didn’t quite understand at such a young age. What I will never forget though was the silence as we made our way through the back streets away from the ground. Only leaving church is quieter. I felt the sorrow of every person I passed and it filled me with a deep sadness. That was the moment my blood turned sky-blue and will be forever more. I thought if this was so important to so many others then I should feel the same. Many more heartaches have followed for the faithful but, I and every other there that day and to this day, will never give up. To my last breath I will wait to see the faces of every supporter at Eastlands smile and celebrate as one, when my generation finally gets to taste the sweet cup of success. I will never give up and Im sure no-one else will either. WE ARE CITY TIL WE DIE!

March 1983, with only a handful of games to save the season (4 of them at Maine Road) I picked Liverpool (Dalglish, Hansen, Souness, Kennedy et al) as my first match. The likes of Alex Williams, Asa Hartford and Paul Power (not to mention Helen ringing her bell) managed to keep the scoreline down to 0-4 and I have never looked back (except to wax lyrical about the atmosphere in the old Kippax when it was a standing terrace). 3 home games later, following West Ham (2-0) and Notts Forest (0-1) we were up against Luton and I remember some bright spark, on seeing Luton’s team sheet saying “I wonder what Antics he’s going to get up to” – you could almost write the script…

My first game was Man City V Watford in the 82/83 season. Watford had just come up. I remember sitting on benches, not seats. It was great, my Mum and Dad did not know I had gone to a football match, I was with my boyfriend who later became my husband. happy days

my very first game was a do or die match against david pleat’s luton. I was 9 nine years old and my older brother took me into the kippax. I just remember the green grass looking so bright from the top of the stand…like a big t.v screen. I didn’t really understand the importance of the match but knew city had to win. As the game went on some lad asked me what time it was as i had on a brand new watch..but couldn’t tell the time properly…at that moment a luton player hit the ball into the net past alex williams..i just remember peoples faces..at the end there were loads of people on the pitch and police everywhere.on the way home there were grown men sat on the pavements crying..i watched it again on t.v that night.it was a introduction to Manchester city that i will never forget…had a season ticket for most seasons since..

Well my 1st game was in 1982 at home v Swansea aged just 9. I remember being sat on the white wall at the foot of the kippax. The atmosphere was like nothing I had ever heard before, electric and almost deafening. And I felt so grown up. Looking back I dont remember much of the match although we won 2-1 and dennis tueart scored a unique in-direct free kick, I just knew that I was there to stay, it felt like home and despite many relegations and promotions since then, there’s no greater feeling than when a city player hits the back of the net. Purely magic

My first City game was back in 1983 in the old Second Division against Derby. My brother and I had been bad lads and our single mother was at her wits end. We were asked by a family friend who was trying to help my mother out, what would put an end to this behaviour. “We want to go to City!”. It was agreed, if our behaviour improved so would our chances of going to City. Needless to say we were both true to our word and on a mild Saturday we went off to Maine Road via Victory Street. We didn’t win though, we drew 1-1 with Derek Parlane scoring our goal. Even to this day I’m sure he was looking at me during his celebrations. Come on the Blues!

My Sunday league went on the pitch to pick up a trophy that we had won, the match was against Grimsby, cant remember the score just remember the electric atmosphere and have been hooked ever since. The masses in the Kippax was a sight to savour however old you were.
