My first city game as a young 16 year old who had come across from Belfast.
Belfast was at the height of the troubles and to come over to England was like a holiday for me.
After travelling across on the Liverpool ferry all night then a train up to Manchester the excitement and joy of seeing Maine Road for the first time in real live was amazing.
i stood on the famous Kippax and then to see my hero the graet Colin Bell score was something else. i will never forget that day as also a fellow Northern Ireland man spoiled it for me when he scored against us – Brian Hamilton.
Having grown up in Belfast in the shadow of Man utd and Liverpool fans i still made the right decision and was a blue at last. 33 years on and still coming over to see the blues the rollercoast still continues and i would not change it for the world. Thank You City

My first City game was with my Dad in November 75.
We got tickets last minute and it was the league Cup semi at Maine Road. I was 7 and had never experienced anything like the thrill of climbing the stairs in H block in the Maine stand and coming out to see the pitch lit with the floodlights on.
We won 4-0, but Colin Bell got tackled by Buchan and the rest is history.
I was already a blue, but my first game made it complete. I live in the USA now and still make at least two games a season.

My Dad took me to my first City game at Chelsea in April 1975. A bright sunny day, a starry eyed young me approaching 13 years of age. We had tickets in the Chelsea stand and I was worried we would be nowhere near any City fans. As the teams came out the four men in front of us jumped up signing songs about Rodney Marsh. Fellow blues. And I was off. Lost in the ultimate brand loyalty that is your own football team. Hero worshipping Asa from that day forward as he scored on the volley from a free kick chipped over the wall, from Colin Bell I think. So we won on my first ever game. I met Asa years later at Gillingham when we were in our darkest hours in the old 3rd division and he was one of the coaches. I asked to shake his hand. My way of saying thank you some 25 years later.
Tueart, Bell, Doyle, Marsh, Big Joe in goal…a fantastic team that won the cup the next year and nearly won the league two years later. I remember being in tears as I filled in my wall chart as we had been pipped by Liverpool to the title.

Geoff Hammond, Colin Bell, Dennis Tueart hat-trick, they beat us in the cup the week before,we were the away team ‘cos they were banned from playing at home – so City lost ‘at home’ 2-0 one week then won at home the following week 5-1 – all you need to know about being a Blue in just those two results; and yes i would still do it all again! The day was brilliant, i just loved it, we sat in the North Stand, just behind Helen (god bless) the noise, the colour, Big Joe getting his lucky sprig of heather from aforementioned Helen & the pure joy of being THERE still gives me goosebumps even now. But, oh how i wanted to get in that there Kippax! Got there two seasons later can’t remember the game but i have a feeling it was against Stoke, I Started at the top near the away fans to begin with (didn’t we all)even got ejected once – oops!for making gestures! i was only telling the Liverpool fans they were two up – Honest! Then of course you moved nearer to the North Stand as you got older(can’t be wiser!)Dennis Tueart – King of all Geordies! still go starry eyed when i meet him now and i am 44

As a yorkshire lad I wasn’t able to go see City until this game. My Mother’s boyfriend (a Leeds fan) brought me to see the game. I had always hated Leeds more than any other team and it really hurt that we lost 1-0. It was a brilliant experience for me though and it is impossible to describe my feelings as I went through the tunnel to the Kippax. Peter Barnes was the young superstar at City, but my hero from those times was Dennis Tuart. I was 14 at the time, by the end of the season I was a regular at Maine Road and a season ticket holder the year after

My friend David Wright asked me if i wanted to go to the City game against Mansfield, it was a really cold night and my mum did not want me to go as i was only 9 years old! She agreed when to let me go as Davids uncle was taking us. I was really excited and got wrapped up warm. We drove down and the first thing we could see were the floodlights and the fans walking down. We got parked up and took the short walk to the match, there were thousands of fans outside the ground as we walked round to the kippax, we went through the turnstiles and I looked up at the stairs which seemed to go on and on forever. we went in and I was lifted up to sit on the big white wall at the side of the tunnel with a big drop on the other side. The noise sounded deafening to me when we scored! We won 4-2 and went on to lift the trophy. I was completely hooked and will never forget the feeling of not knowing what was going to happen, nothing has changed!!!

I think it was 1975…i was 7 years old and went with my Dad and older brother we sat in the main stand at maine road. I remember walking up the stairs and seeing the pitch for the first time it took my breath away! We beat West Ham 3-0 i think Alan Oakes scored twice. I was hooked and have been going ever since now my 7 year old has started down the rocky road and we wouldnt have it any other way!
