I did not go to the game but I remember as a 6 year old watching it on a black and white portable telly in the kitchen in our home in Chorlton. At the end my dad turned to me and said ‘Don’t worry son I will take you the next time we are at Wembley!’ I thought how cool was my dad but now I realise how clever he was…. I am hoping that my 5 year old now gets the chance to see more Wembley Finals than me!!!! (Just the one in ‘99) COME ON CITY!!!!

My everlasting memory of Manchester City was the whole experience of going to Maine Road. Walking up a couple of hours before the match to do mind your car whilst my dad was in the Buzz of the Bee pub by the ground. My dad walking up to get me so we could get chippy from the corner, the Chippy was still there when we moved out of the ground. Standing in the Kippax and climbing the stantion so I could see the match. Climbing over the corner of the Kippax wall to avoid the crush of the crowds getting out and walking with the mass of the crowds leaving the ground. Watchin Manchester City wasn’t just turning up in a car it was a whole day event. Father and Son bonding, Chips from the chippy which we could rarely afford during the week. The year would be around 75-76 and I loved spending the time with my dad watching Manchester City at Maine Road.

As schoolboys my pals and I were at Maine Road autograph hunting, in those days the players trained at the stadium. Mike Simerbee came out, signed our books, we asked if any ball boys were needed, “go and ask Malcom, tell him I sent you” was the reply. So we marched up to reception, asked to see Mr Alison, we only got into his office to see the man himself! That just would not happen today, great memories.

I was 9 years old me and my dad were staying at his uncles. We work early and ate a full english breakfast then we made our way down to the ground my dad went a diffrent way so he could walk from the house were he lived as a kid one last time. Me and my cousin were at the front of the crowd surrounding the entrance to the ground. Shaun Goater came round for photos and he signed my flag then Robbie fowler jumped thourgh the crowed. Whenthe game began it wasn’t the greatest game ever but I knew it meant so much more when the full time whistle went we had lost one nill but it didn’t matter this was a goodbye party and I know that I will never forget the one game I saw at Mainr Road

My first game was in September 2009. I had been converted into a City fan around 7 years ago by my other half. The game in question was City v Fulham in the Carling Cup and to be honest it was a poor game, but the atmosphere and the build up to the game more than made up for the match…
The game eventually went to extra time and with us sneaking through with goals from Barry and Toure. I have subsequently been to all the Carling Cup games so far this season and also the Chelsea game…………. So thats a 100% record for me when i have visited Coms

My first game was THIS year on December 5th. My daughter & son-in-law took me to see MCFC vs Chelsea. What a game and what an experience! I will never forget that evening.

I was nine approaching ten and was taken to the CITY, Sheff United game by my father.
We won 2.0 and I remember sitting on the cold wooden seats of Platt Lane behind the goal, drinking hot chocolate from his flask and eating meat spread butties.
I couldn’t believe that we were watching the actual same players I saw on Match of the Day!
My father has since sadly passed away, but I’ll always have the memory that day.
Always
Go-on-the-blues I can still here him shout when I take my boys.
