My fist match was at Eastlands when we played Blackburn in 2007. I have been a City supporter since I was a kid ( I am 55 now ) I remember going to Albert square when they brought the European cup winners cup back.
I now take my 2 young nephews with me when I can.

beating united 3-1 in the final of the F.A youth cup in 1986 was the first game i can remember going to. i was only 5 years old and i thought it was both of the first teams playing which made it even better.

Last day of the season in 1985 v Charlton. A win and we’re promoted… 6 years old I sat mesmerised by the awesome sight which was Maine Rd. My dad informed me that if we win, we’ll be going up and we’ll have a big party. After the final whistle went and a 5-1 victory we stayed to cheer the players, at which point I started to cry. My dad asked me what was up, I replied ‘You said there would be a party’… but no jelly and ice-cream to be seen anywhere. Many more tears have been shed for my beloved blues since.

i was 7 years old when i was taken to my first manchester city match by my best friends grandad, the match against nottingham forrest was dubbed as the war of the keepers and i didnt have a clue with only being 7 what in the world was going on of course the war was between citys mighty joe corrigan. and englands peter shilton on the way to the match we were bought a bag of plumbs from the grocerers on platt lane. i was enthralled by all the singing and wave of blue and white as we approached the kippax. we were ushered through the turnstiles and down the steps pushing through the crowd down to the front. and there they were the team i was to support for the rest of my life warming up on the pitch. we were sat on the fence legs dangling through eating our bag of plumbs.

I had followed football for years due to my family being huge football fans but never actually found my own team, part of it as my way of rebelling really lol my mum a lifelong liverpool supporter and my dad even worse a red ; ) hehe there was always pressure to go one way or the other so i went neither and remained a neutral. Then i met my partner a life long dedicated blue and began watching city on the tv and that is where my love affair for the blue moon began : ) i have been to several home and away matches now the first being fulham at home in the carling cup. My partner always says he wishes he had took me to a ‘better’ match with a ‘better’ atmosphere for my first game but I loved it regardless and each time it only gets better and my love and passion for the club only grows more!!! My next game is the semi final tie home leg against utd and I cant wait see our boys do them reds and show them what we are capable of!!!

When i was 7 years old i went to the local sports shop in Norwich and picked out my first kit ,city home, with red and white stripe across the striking royal blue. This started the wonderful but traumatic journey from my first game, Norwich away 22/12/75 . I can clearly remember an exciting 2-2 draw with my hero Dennis Tueart scoring right in front of where i was standing and the dulcet tones of Helen’s bell ringing in me and my dad’s ears. I was hooked, i now travel the 200 miles every home game and to most away games to see my beloved City 37 years on from that first shirt.

My first City match! I was 11 and a half years old and I was being treated by mum and dad. And what a treat! It was a match that was Pure City;we had our skipper Doyle sent off at 2-0 up and then we went 3-0 up before being pegged backed back by Derby to 3-2. My hero Tueart then scored a fabulous goal running through from his own half onto a ball from Ged Keegan to put us 4-2 up. There was still time for Derby to score a third leaving me biting my nails until the final whistle and a 4-3 win. Not much has changed since – but I would not change my City for the world!

My first game was the 1969 FA Cup Quarter final against Spurs; my Dad took me to the game on a very wet Saturday after noon. We got the 53 special bus from Belle Vue getting off at the end of Dickinson road a journey that I would make hundreds of times in the future. We walked around Platt lane into the side streets and called into the Rusholm Working men’s club sadly no longer there I sat in the corner with a coke and some salt and shake crisps listening to the city fans talking about the coming game. Just walking to the ground through the back alleys was exiting enough with the sound of the crowd and everyone wearing some form of blue, I had never seen so many people. Once inside the walls of Maine Road .I was overwhelmed by magnitude of the ground and the hustle and bustle of fans chanting and cheering.
I sat on the wall close to the half way line with my feet dangling over onto the side of the wet and muddy pitch. When the players came out in their sky blue, my heart missed a beat I was so close that I could have reached out and touched them it was fantastic. The thing that I remember the most was the roar of the crowd and the celebrations when Franny Lee scored the winner; I was nearly pushed on to the pitch
I remember thinking that I would get the chance to go to a semi final. But was told that I was too young.
A game that I will never forget
