Boxing Day, 1977. My Dad takes me into the North Stand to watch City play Newcastle. We won 4-0. But the memory remains dedicated to the return of the Legend Colin Bell. He came on as sub after that injury. Grown men stood around me. Crying. Only Wembley 1999 has come anywhere close to what I experienced that day. Mesmorised and addicted, I am blue forevermore. Thanks Najinsky, and thanks Dad for taking me to Maine Road!

I remember that game well. The buzz before the game was that Bell was fit and on the subs bench. It was 0-0- at half time and would probably have ended that way, but Bell came on for the second half and transformed the team, the crowd and the game.

I think we played Newcastle at Maine Road the week before in the FA cup and got beat 0-2. It was 0-0 in this game at half time when King Colin came out for the second half, the atomsphere was electric. I think his first touch was a long range shot which hit the cross bar at the Northstand, driving the City fans into a frenzy – still get goose bumps today!
Come on City!!
