The Holy Trinity of Bell,Summerbee & Lee, Lake what a player that we lossed, 1999 Wembley, we had to win there was no escape plan, Dicky,Horlock Weaves and of course the man for the moment, often forgotten but we see our Dunnie as a colosuss, well I can tell you the one guy guy that dragged us through those dark times and the manager that we owe oh so much to, Joe Royle and Andy Morrison, the toughest pair of City player and manager ever, they had to be. Div 2 nothing to look forward to but blood, sweat toil and tears, ‘we are not we’re not really here’ Rain, wind and standing in a tatty old stand with no roof as such(sorry Macc) Macclesfield Town FC in 1998/99 season. That brought a lot of realities home, what was gods club doing here, well he was bringing us down to earth just so we could appreciate what we now have. To City I raise my glass, you know how to entertain in life never fully up and never fully down but never far away from either. You are my City, my only City from Maine Road. CTID all my family and me. Gary Williams

…my career as a City fan! I was 7 years old and tiny! My Dad, born in Moss Side, a lifelong Blue took me to watch City play Barnsley away. At first, with all the noise and all the people, I was terrified!
I can’t remember the score, or even the result but my over riding memory was the atmosphere amongst the City fans; the sense of humour and the banter. When I hurt my foot and cried, a complete stranger asked if I was OK and gave me a few chips. He then proceeded to commentate on the whole game for me. I’ll never forget that day and the baptism of fire I experienced.

My dad took me to see city play brighton at maine rd on the 23rd of feb 1985, the night before he told me he’d only take me if it was’nt raining, so i stayed up half the night peeping out the window to check the weather, anyway no rain thankfully, and through the platt lane turnstile we went, i remember just seeing a glimpse of the the pitch through the tunnel that lead to the seats and being mesmerised, once in i must have changed seats ten times just to take it all in, much to dads displeasure! i can hardly remember any of the game just being in awe of maine road, i can remember both goals in a 2.0 win gordon smith and david phillips, i still have the programme and have been to hundreds of city matches since, but that first glimpse of the maine road turf will live with me forever!

My daddy took me to Eastlands for the first time for my 5th birthday, which was anounced at half-time. We played Arsenal and lost 3-1. It was very noisy and I was a bit overwhelmed but loved it.
I am sat with my cousin Luke, I am on the left.

My first game was against reading back when i was abou 3 or 4. I dont remember much from that game but i was sat in the kippax with my dad. I remember i had a perminant smile on my face due to the atmosphere. That was the single best day of my childhood and i still have the scarf i got from the match to remember it.

My first Manchester City match was FA Cup day 1955. We had our very first rented tv was delivered at midday and the first image (B&W)was City walking out at wembley. They lost that one but had the pleasure of winning the folowing year.
