Walking up to Old Trafford 2 hours before kick off at the end of March 1968 hoping to see City take another step towards the championship as a 10 year old. City fans everywhere, excitment incredible. The ground filling up, just before Kick off a drunken United fan stood blocking my view, gently moved on by my Dad. The teams came out , the tension unbearable “we were going to win the league” George Best scored after 36 seconds, my Dad just said never mind this is City we had to give United a chance. Thet never had another George Heslop, Colin Bell and Frannie Lee 3 – 1 to City. We will be champions.

Ive been a Man city fan for as long as i can remember, but i can’t really tell you why.
I’m a southerner with no northern family, City were just the team i chose to love, and i still do to the day.
Living on the south coast you might imagine its hard to get to Manchester to see the home games, but one weekend my self and 4 friends (all spurs fans) came up for the Sunday afternoon game.
The experiance for me was amazing, the singing fans and being front row, i loved being next to the pitch.
The game started and the feeling was electric, but things turned sour as Robbie Keane scored from what looked to be an impossible angle, and that how half time finished.
No need to say i got some abusive texts from my mates. But the second half was to change all that.
Ireland got one about 15 mins into the second half and Onuoha finished it off. 2-1 City!!
I have to say the trip home wasnt as great as the match, as i had to sit on a train full of spurs fans, and me still with my City top and match scarf still being worn proudly.
A day i will never ever ever forget.

I woke up early on the Saturday morning to find out my own match had been cancelled. After speaking to a few mates, I got invited to the FA Cup 3rd Round match between City & Nottingham Forest.
Surely it was going to be a goal fest, especially after the previous weeks drubbing of Hull.
I wasn’t disappointed, Nathan Tyson scored a screamer thanks to Micah Richards, and Robert Earnshaw made it 2-0 at half time. Boos followed the Blues of the pitch, and joining in with this was my personal highlight.
In the 2nd half City were just as poor, and Joe Garner wrapped up a fine 3-0 victory for the Championship strugglers, who promptly reminded City fans of their glorious European past.
It was the best match I have ever been to, and I just wish I could have been in the away end with the jubilant Forest fans. Sitting in the East stand surrounded by gutted City fans was fantastic though, and I can’t wait to return to my new ‘Theatre of Dreams’

The first City game I remember going to was on, Wednesday march 7th 1979 v Borussia Monchengladbach in the UEFA cup quarter final.
We had beaten the mighty AC Milan in the previous two legs 5-2 on aggregate.
It was a complete surprise to me that I was even going, “We have to get home quickly, you’re going to watch City tonight” said my Mum as we walked home from my junior school gates.
The City line up on the night was full of City legends. It included the likes of to name just a few Power,Donachie, Hartford, and Barnes.
I was so excited going to the game, and in the ground the atmosphere was electric. We drew 1-1 on the night but unfortunately lost the away leg and went out 4-2 on aggregate. It was too late though, I had been bitten by the City bug, and there was no turning back.
I remember fondly how I always wore my full kit to the games under my clothes, as my dad always told me that if they were short I might get a game. So I went to all those games with my full kit on complete with shin pads, and with my boots in a bag.
Funnily enough they were never quite that short, I never got on, but I never stopped believing.
I have stopped bringing my boots and shin pads now.
But you never stop believing.

My first game was on the 17th of January 2009 against Wigan Athletic, when I was 4 months old.
My Mum, dad and Grandad were really proud of me. Before the game I had my picture taken with the Captain Richard Dunne, with my first City shirt.
We won on the day 1-0 when Zablazeta scored a well deserved goal. I was hoping it was Robinho as he likes to suck his thumb like me when he scores.
I was really good on the day, even though I was nearly sick on City legend Mike Summerbee.

My abiding memory was that the pitch was so green and everything was perfect. August games are full of optimism and hope. I was with my Dad and my big brother and City won 6-0. I thought it was always going to be like this. I didn’t know what I was letting myself in for but my timing was great. The next 12 years were fabulous.

My dad took me to my first game, aged 6, to see his favourite team and the team he named my middle name after. It was a friendly against Olympiakos and I can remember the away fans behind us in the family stand because they were bangin on a drum that sounded like a stampede of elephants. It gave me a headache! We were losing at half time but came back to win 3-1 and I loved it so much I begged my dad to buy me a season ticket. I’ve had one ever since.
