I have been a City supporter since I was a kid, wagging school to watch them bring the European cup winners cup home. I never got to watch City until 2006 when we played Blackburn, we lost 3-0 but I didnt care. The atmosphere in the ground was electric, made the hair on the back of my neck tingle. I have been to more matches since that first one (live near the stadium now) and I still get the tingles going to the ground. The kid who had a life size poster of Francis Lee at the head of her bed finally got her dream come true.

My first City game was V Charlton on the 12th February 2006.
I was 7-years of age.
This game has extra special memories for me because I was chosen to take a pre match penalty against Moonchester…
Although we live in Kent my dad and I are both City fans. For this game we managed to get tickets through Charlton but decided to make our way up to ensure we got there early to have a good look around the ground. Once we had finished looking around we decided to find our seats. Whilst sitting there a lady from City came over and asked me I would like to take a pre match penalty. This was a brilliant experience. Another reason for it being so cool and a special memory is that I had to take the penalty in a plastic cape as the weather was terrible… I still scored against Moonchester though. Along with City winning 3 -2, this made the 5-hour journey home bearable!!
Unfortunately as we had not expected this extra special thing my dad didn’t have his camera

My younger sister had been in Pendlebury Hospital for a couple of months and one saturday in February My dad said “Come on son, we are going to see Josephine” I couldn’t understand all this because I didn’t really want to visit my sister (being only 7 years of age at the time) but Dad insisted and then he explained to me on the bus into town that e were going to see CITY after the hospital. Excited or what I couldn’t believe it. When we arrived outside the ground I had to stand outside the pub opposite (King george iv, I think) while my dad had a swift half, then into the ground, main stand seats. I must have been an embarassment to my dad by asking him why they were playing with a plastic ball, because it was white and I had got for christmas a leather case ball which was brown, and at that time all plastic balls were white.
All I really remember about the afternoon was that the pie at half time was cold and horrible a CITY player had a clash of heads and had to carry on with his head bandaged, and CITY won 2-0. I was the first in my class to go to a match and 47 years later I am still going and still get emotional about certain games.

Its Saturday 20th April 1991, the Suns beaming down on Maine rd and my dad , myself aged 8 and my brother 10 at the time, were getting squashed by thousands of extatic city fans in the good old Kippax stand (when you could stand).
Niall Quinn had already scored for City that afternoon then i heared a massive roar come from my right. It was the away fans screaming for a penalty. Tony Coton had brought down Dean Saunders to give Derby a vital penalty. Coton was sent off as a result whom then gave the gloves to Niall Quinn , which was rare then for a striker to take over in net.
Dean Saunders stepped up to take the penalty , I was at this time on my dads shoulders because i wanted to see all the drama.
And Niall Quinn has saved it ! The crowd are going wild cheering and screaming. ‘Blue Moon’ it was so loud it could have been heared from as far away as Wythenshawe !
As a result, Derby were relegated.
I told all my friends about that amazin save for weeks.
I will probably remember
that afternnon for the rest of my life !

My first game was a friends birthday, it was Novemeber 1975, i was 10 years old and mad about City, i remember freezing in the main stand but City won 2-1 against Spurs, Alan Oakes and Peter Barnes i recall!, afterwards we walked up Oxford Rd and had beans on toast, a real treat then!. The day was topped off as my parents lived next door to Pat Jennings brother!, we gave him so much stick that weekend!, brilliant memories.
