I woke up early on the Saturday morning to find out my own match had been cancelled. After speaking to a few mates, I got invited to the FA Cup 3rd Round match between City & Nottingham Forest.
Surely it was going to be a goal fest, especially after the previous weeks drubbing of Hull.
I wasn’t disappointed, Nathan Tyson scored a screamer thanks to Micah Richards, and Robert Earnshaw made it 2-0 at half time. Boos followed the Blues of the pitch, and joining in with this was my personal highlight.
In the 2nd half City were just as poor, and Joe Garner wrapped up a fine 3-0 victory for the Championship strugglers, who promptly reminded City fans of their glorious European past.
It was the best match I have ever been to, and I just wish I could have been in the away end with the jubilant Forest fans. Sitting in the East stand surrounded by gutted City fans was fantastic though, and I can’t wait to return to my new ‘Theatre of Dreams’
