After being brainwashed since I was born by my dad, it took over 15 years before I saw City live for the first time. Mind you living in Australia does make it hard to get to games! Anyway after travelling 20,000km we arrived in Manchester on the morning of the big game. I didn’t know what to expect but everything lived up to my expectations. The ground, the crowd, the shop, the noise, the rival fans, the speed of the game, the result (of course) and Mr Fowler’s celebration in front of the reds. Absolutely brilliant. This will stay with me for the rest of my life. But with every up following City there’s a down, because a few hours after the match I was rushed to hospital to get my appendix out. Dad just shrugged his shoulders and said, “City’ll do that to you”.
