October 1980
I couldn’t tell you the exact date, but, I went with two mates from sixth form to Maine Road and stood in the Kippax and thought the atmosphere was great. I had supported City since 5 but this was the first experience live. We lost 3-0 to Liverpool, I remember Sammy Lee bagging a hat-trick, but, that didn’t matter. I had jumped on the roller coaster!!

I was at that game as I had a season ticket. If I’m not mistaken, it was a game very close to the end of the season and The Kippax was not sad to lose the game as it helped guarantee the League title for Liverpool while denying it to United !
